Mull It Over

Sitting by the beach and “forgetting everything” is actually better than being on screens and “feeling” engaged.

When you’re sitting on the beach, your mind has time to mull over things and process. And we can’t think about what’s going on if we are constantly being distracted by digital media. And If we don’t let ourselves process our situations, we won’t learn and we won’t grow.

You’ve heard, “The journey is more important than the destination.”

However, technology today creates this need to be instantly gratified. If we want to buy something expensive, we can use a credit card and get it today. But think of all the lessons you would learn if you saved up for that purchase: patience, discernment, self-control, budgeting, and so much more! It’s so much easier to desire the outcome instead of the process it takes to get there. It’s harder. It’s longer. It’s complicated. It’s uncomfortable.

All of those “unwanted” feelings that come with the hard route are ultimately what makes us better individuals.

The process is good. So, where is your “beach”? Where can you go to unplug and process?
